Making Decisions- The Results Should Not Make You Feel Guilty
Making a decision is one aspect of our lives that we have to constantly live with every day of our lives. It is because of yesterday’s decisions that we are where we are and headed where we are going. Making a business related decision though is never easy. However, there is a chance that one will make the best decision, if he applies a few helpful guidelines. It is always advisable to make decisions based on sober judgment.
It all begins by considering all the options at hand. Clearly establish the parameters that are at stake and see how they all will be positively or negatively affected if you take a given course of action and not the other. Once you know all your options, gather as much information as you can in regard to each option. Talk to people who can give you valuable advice, read books if you have to and even carry out an online research, just to be sure you have all the necessary information.
Try to see if you have the experience that will be needed for whichever option that you may choose over the rest. For example, if you are trying to expand your business into a franchise, do you have enough manpower for the same? Do you have enough management experience for a larger corporation? You at this point have to sit down with yourself and clearly point out the pros and cons of each option. Whatever outweighs the other wins the day.
If there are other people who will be affected by your decision, be sure to consult them. If not, remember that the decision should be by you and for you. What you settle for should not make you feel guilty, regardless of what other people think of it. Thinks clearly and be honest to yourself before you implement your decision.
