Types Of Bacteria
There are various groups of bacteria which belong to the same family and are evolved from the same bacteria, though with different characteristics. Bacteria are grouped into classification based on shapes which are rod, sphere and spiral. These microorganisms are also classified based on the requirement of oxygen for their survival. Those that require oxygen for their survival are known as aerobic, while those that do not require oxygen are known as anaerobic.
Types of bacteria could be either be gram positive or gram negative, which is based on the results of gram staining method. There are also those that are grouped as either autotrophic or heterotrophic. This means the amount of carbon that these need from carbon-dioxide. Other microscopic organisms are based on morphology, DNA sequencing, conditions required and biochemistry. Heterotrophic bacteria obtain carbon and/or sugar from the environment they are in (for example, the living cells or organism they are in).
There are so many diseases that are caused by the various types of bacteria since many are fond of moist areas. All the various diseases have their own ways of curing them. It is quite important that a close attention is paid to the micro-organism causing this disease before treatment can be sought. This helps to solve diseases using the right type of medication.
