Retirement planning- Why You Should Continue To Get Some Income On A Regular Basis
Every employed person looks forward to the day when they will retire from their jobs and have a time to rest. During this time that one has no work place to report to and probably no forthcoming income, life still has to go on and expenses will still be there. How then will one be able to keep up with the lifestyle they enjoyed while in employment? This is where planning for retirement comes in.
In many countries, retirement planning is normally done through contribution to a pension kitty. It is a form of savings plan that ensures that, retirees continue to get some income on a regular basis. Another form of retirement planning that is common in many nations is the severance package, which is handed to the retiree at the time when they leave their work place. It is given in one lump sum.
Pension can either be created by an employer for the benefit of the employee, or an employee can come up with their own pension plans. If the pension arrangement is by the employer, the retirement plan is known as occupational or employer pension. Other forms of pension are organized by labor unions, government or welfare associations, all for the sake of the employee’s future in mind
People living with disabilities also have disability pensions, and especially those that are prone to retire at an earlier age as a result of the disability. Other pension plans take into consideration the fact that one may suffer disability in the course of their retirement age. Retirement plans have their own package of benefits, one of them being that a person is guaranteed of a regular source of income even after they have ceased being members of staff of a given organization.
