Most people are usually faced with the problem of trying to lose some weight. However, there are also a percentage of people who are underweight and whose problem is the opposite. One can be underweight due to varying issues such as illness, poor feeding habits, and improper diet or even due to genetics. These can be costly and the best thing would be to eat a normal and healthy diet to help you gain weight.

To gain weight, you need to increase your intake of calories taking into account the number that your body will burn. However, junk foods do not count as provide unhealthy calories. You need to eat healthy foods so that you can get lean mass and not fat. In addition, you need to ensure that you are eating regularly. This means that, instead of eating three meals in a day, you get to eat at least six times. Desserts can also be eaten but in moderation to avoid developing health problems due to unhealthy sugars.

The foods that would help you gain weight should be rich in proteins, carbohydrates and healthy fats. Proteins allow the body to gain mass muscles but not fat. Examples of these are fish, dairy products (milk, cheese, butter and yogurt), pork, chicken, eggs and beef. Nuts and seeds are also very healthy sources of proteins. Vegetable proteins are also important. These include, soy products, beans and other legumes. The healthy fats to include in your diet should be from fish sources. These provide omega-3 which is very important for the body. Other healthy sources of fats are from seeds and nuts. Examples of these include, sunflower, linseed, sesame and almonds seeds. You also require healthy nuts such as cashew, almond and hazelnuts which can also be used as snacks.

There are various sources of carbohydrates which provide energy for the body. Examples of health carbohydrate sources include vegetables such as potatoes, spinach and carrots. You also need to increase your fruit intake to include fruits like avocado and banana. You should also avoid white rice and white bread and instead choose the healthier options of brown rice and whole wheat bread and other grains. In addition, to all these nutritious foods that you can use to gain weight, you can also use olive oil to prepare your meals.
