Among the many factors that we should look at while buying a car, vehicle gas mileage comes amongst the most important in addition to the physical appearance and engine condition. Most car companies today have a great task to ensure that the vehicle they come up with meet the current fuel standards, that is to say that the engines should be fuel economical.

With the fuel prices that currently have a upward orientation, most manufacturers are finding themselves at crossroads because they risk being thrown out of business since may people will withdraw from buying vehicle if the trend continues. Everybody wants to invest in a fuel efficient vehicle so that they pay less for long trips and they are looking for information that will direct them to the vehicle with enhanced gas mileage. Fuel efficient vehicles also bring with them some advantages like government bonuses and some tax exemptions.

Vehicle gas mileage has also got something to do with the environment. The more fuel we can conserve the better w can take care of the natural resources and the environment at large. Since it is not possible to live in a vehicle-free world, it is only wise the that we do the best we can to take care of the environment as we enhance the vehicle gas mileage.

For best results as far as all the above is concerned we should therefore exercise some driving habits that will prove beneficial. To begin with, avoid resting your foot on the brake while driving as this only make acceleration more difficult and takes up more fuel. Avoid rough roads, do not idle while the engine is on, Avoid reverse gear while parking and have your car serviced regularly to ensure that everything including the air filters are in good shape.
