Vitamins and minerals form a large part of substances used by the body to control the proper functioning of the body. They are normally obtained from the foods that we eat on a daily basis though some of these are richer in the substances as compared to others.

The difference between the two is that vitamins are organic while minerals are inorganic. However they are both obtained from the soil through the plants that we eat. These chemicals play an important role in the functioning of the immune system which enables the organs and cells to perform in a better way. Plants too need these inorganic and organic substances in plenty for their structure.

Today, it is common to obtain processed food as supplements of the fresh foods thanks to technology. However these come with some side effects. Unprocessed foods such as fruits and vegetables, milk, dairy products and fish contain these elements which are vital in the proper functioning of the human body. Eating a balanced diet on a daily basis does wonders in providing these substances in our bodies.

People who eat balanced diet on a daily process will have fewer problems in nutrition. Vitamins and minerals are found in the foods that we take in everyday. Foods rich in these include eggs, milk meat and fish. It is recommended to eat fruits and vegetables on a daily basis but people at times overlook the importance of other foods providing proteins, carbohydrates and fats in the process of body building. It is quite important to have a balanced diet for healthy living. Avoid supplements for vitamins and minerals where possible for the proper functioning of the body.
