Yeast Infection

Vaginal yeast infections come about when a woman’s body more specifically the vagina’s pH or balance has gone out of sync. This causes the bacteria Candida Albicans to multiply unchecked and become a parasite overpowering the good bacteria.

When the body is at its normal balance, this form of bacteria still exists and are normally controlled and kept out of mischief by the good bacteria. Because of this, we need to realize just how important it is to make sure our bodies are healthy and balanced. We need to keep our immune systems as strong as possible, to fight off yeast infections or any other infection.

First we need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This means that we need to change how we eat and drink. We need to reduce sugars, carbohydrates, foods high in yeast such as bread and some alcoholic drinks. We should then incorporate water, citrus fruit, grains such as brown rice and unsweetened yogurt, leafy vegetables, garlic into our diets. We also need to let go of all things that bring us stress. This combination will strengthen our immune systems.

To cure or give immediate relief to some symptoms of vaginal yeast infections, some women use unsweetened yogurt. Other than the cooling effect it provides for the burning, itching, painful sensations, the yogurt uses the live lactobacillus acidophilus bacteria cultures to fight the Candida Albicans bacteria. This is one reason it is used directly on the vagina as opposed to orally. It’s important for us to know the natural remedies available to us. This way, our bodies do not offer resistance to prescription medication especially in the case of a recurring vaginal yeast infection.
