I am still yet to meet someone who doesn’t love candy. In fact, the mention of it makes our mouth watery and it’s actually everybody’s favorite. No wonder, they’re served in every celebration and there colorful decorations makes them even more scrumptious. Today, they do magic when it comes to decorating Christmas trees and they could possibly be the best welcome and return gift.
Making candy is quite simple, a common candy recipe. You dissolve sugar in water, boil the mixture until it becomes thick and then put it in utensils of different shapes as you wish. One can also use milk instead of water depending on your choice and the taste you wish to attain.
In most cases, ingredients used and the time the mixture is allowed to boil determines the taste and look. However, candies differ in texture i.e. they can be soft, hard, chewy or brittle. Generally, candy recipes are in different categories such as boiled, confection, fudge, praline, truffle, hard, caramel, brittle and prickle etc. However, if you’re imaginative and creative enough, you can even make your own recipe at home and still get different flavors and colorants.
Most common ingredients used in making candy include; sugar, milk, water, chocolates, nuts etc while different flavors will include chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, butterscotch and many more. Interestingly, grandmother candy recipes are the most popular. They include; peanut brittle, chocolate fudge, peanut butter, taffy, Halloween candy, praline and so on. Generally they’re affordable and very tasty. Other recipes will include; candy bars, rock, sucking, cotton candy, candy canes etc. They come in different flavors, shapes and decorations.
