When preparing to write a speech, you must be ready to make the speech entertaining and add on some humor, a little heartfelt word and you have yourself a masterpiece. Be yourself in the speech and maybe read up on books that teach you how to write a speech.
People always forget that the speech is nothing without the characterization. This means basically you need to add some oomph into the speech. Making this happen is not easy and it is best you get some tutoring from your friends especially those that are good at making speeches.

Then if you are still uneasy you can always resort to seeing the people in their undergarments that will always calm the nerve but it is basically a way to get you to concentrate on the speech at hand.
