There are millions of paint color combination available in the market today. Choosing them could be a challenge especially if you are presented with so many of them. Its important to always follow your impulses and instincts during color selection. However a certain color will appeal to you more than another color yet it does not appeal to everyone. Therefore, it is important for you to understand the various color categories available.

Color wheels are used to depict color combination in three formats i.e.

Primary colors; red, yellow and blue.

Secondary colors; green, purple and orange and off course

Tertiary colors that come from mixing a primary color with its corresponding secondary color.

You can use a color wheel to identify the colors that will look great on your house. The most sort after color combination fall into the following categories;

Monochromatic colors; these refers to all the different values of of a single color, for example all the different shades of red. Its representation should not show any contrast.

Adjacent colors; these are achieved when two or more colors that are located next to each other on the color wheel are combined.

Complementary colors; these type of colors are achieved by mixing colors opposite one another on the color wheel, such as red and green, or yellow and violet.

Triadic; these system uses three colors that are equidistant on the color wheel, such as yellow-orange, blue-green, and red-violet.

When you want to go about selecting the right paint color for your interior decoration, choose a color that is warm, and friendly, a color that blends with the room and makes you feel more comfortable. Choose a color that creates a visual interest and practical as well. It should resist the exterior environmental forces such as traffic, moisture, and abrasion that tend to degenerate the walls.
